# Khotan

Let the agents build. Get out of their way.

Khotan is an agent-native workspace. The public CLI, `@khotan/cli`, is a thin adapter over the Khotan `/api/v1` HTTP API. It adds nothing the API cannot do — it makes the same operations ergonomic for humans and agents.

Start here:

npx @khotan/cli --help
```

Start at [Basics](/basics/). Then read the [CLI documentation](/cli/), or the [HTTP API reference](/api/) if you are calling `/api/v1` directly.

Agents should fetch [llms.txt](/llms.txt) instead of scraping HTML, and [search.json](/search.json) to look something up. See [agents](/cli/agents/).
