# Output

Human-readable tables and detail views are the default. Add `--json` for API-shaped JSON.

- Results go to **stdout**.
- Prompts, progress, and diagnostics go to **stderr**.

So this stays clean:

```sh
khotan apps list --json | jq '.apps[].id'
```

`--profile`, `--api-url`, `--api-key`, and `--assert-org` are global and combine with `--json`. See [auth](/cli/auth/).
